10 Ways to Support Your Mental Health with Metastatic Breast Cancer

It’s not uncommon to experience a wide range of emotions following a metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, including stress, anxiety, fear, uncertainty, and depression. These emotions can have a strong effect on your mental health.
 
According to Health Line, mortality rates were 25 percent higher in people with cancer who had depressive symptoms and 39 percent higher in people diagnosed with major depression.

Campus Updates 

PVAMU Vaccine Incentive Program 


To further mitigate virus spread, PVAMU strongly encourages vaccination as the best way to protect our fellow panthers, faculty, and staff from getting the virus and becoming severely ill. Monthly vaccinations are currently being offered in the Hobart Taylor Building, Room 1C129 (TR Solomon Street, Prairie View, TX 77446).
 
The following incentives are being used to encourage students to vaccinate:
  • Students will be able to submit proof of vaccination and enter a December 2021 drawing in which winners will receive one of the following 25 prizes:
  • 10 - Tablets (valued at $550)
  • 10 - Earbuds (valued at $200)
  • 5 - Wireless Headsets (valued at $150)

Student COVID Taskforce

Students have come together to form a student-led COVID Taskforce. The Student COVID Taskforce primary goal is to educate and address vaccine hesitancy amongst the PVAMU community.
